{"id":4338,"date":"2021-03-03T12:54:30","date_gmt":"2021-03-03T12:54:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/formula1news.co.uk\/?p=4338"},"modified":"2021-03-19T17:52:45","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T17:52:45","slug":"valtteri-bottas-not-ruling-out-mercedes-exit-to-have-a-beatable-team-mate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/formula1news.co.uk\/valtteri-bottas-not-ruling-out-mercedes-exit-to-have-a-beatable-team-mate\/","title":{"rendered":"Valtteri Bottas Not Ruling Out Mercedes Exit To Have A Beatable Team-Mate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Valtteri Bottas will be out of contract with <a href=\"https:\/\/formula1news.co.uk\/tag\/mercedes-f1\">Mercedes<\/a> at the end of 2021, but the Finn has insisted he isn\u2019t yet thinking about his plans for 2022 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to a question asked by <a href=\"https:\/\/formula1news.co.uk\/\">Formula1News.co.uk<\/a> during a press conference on Tuesday following Mercedes\u2019 launch of their 2021 challenger, the W12, Bottas said he is focused on the task ahead this upcoming season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/formula1news.co.uk\/lewis-hamilton-calls-out-other-f1-teams-for-not-backing-equality-campaign\/\">Lewis Hamilton Calls Out Other F1 Teams For Not Backing Equality Campaign<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cThat\u2019s a bit too far from the radar or the timeline I\u2019m thinking about at the moment,\u201d Bottas replied when asked if he is considering leaving Mercedes at the end of 2021 to potentially give himself a better chance of winning a Championship by joining a team with a weaker second driver, for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just really thinking about this year and I shouldn\u2019t waste any thought yet on those kinds of things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo [I\u2019m] just focused on this year and trying to reach my goal, as I described [earlier in this press conference] and then we\u2019ll see,\u201d the Finn added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bottas has failed to outscore <a href=\"https:\/\/formula1news.co.uk\/tag\/lewis-hamilton\/\">Sir Lewis Hamilton<\/a> in the four seasons he has been at Mercedes, with the Brit winning every Championship since Nico Rosberg retired from Formula One at the end of 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the same press conference yesterday, Bottas reflected on his performance last year and said he believes he could have done a better job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI had a good reset.
