Last week, Rich Energy founder William Storey claimed<\/a> that the energy drink brand will be returning to Formula One in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cF1 incoming. The best energy drink in the world mounting the greatest comeback since Lazarus.  Premium British performance,\u201d Storey wrote in a tweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He failed to specify which team or driver they will apparently be returning with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this announcement, Formula1News.co.uk<\/a> reached out to a number of teams across the grid considered most likely \u2013 albeit still highly unlikely \u2013 to be willing to work with Rich Energy given their reputation in Formula One.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Williams F1 Team<\/a> flatly denied holding any discussions with Rich Energy about a sponsorship deal or a partnership in another capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, Williams told Formula1News.co.uk that they \u201chave had no communication with Rich Energy at all and are not in any discussion regarding a potential sponsorship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, another F1 team which didn\u2019t want to be named also said it has no plans to enter into a sponsorship deal with the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also reached out to the Haas F1 Team, which Rich Energy sponsored in 2019, but they are yet to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rich Energy\u2019s title sponsorship of the Haas F1 Team came to an abrupt end after Storey terminated the deal due to \u201cpoor performance\u201d in mid-2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday [10 July] Rich Energy terminated our contract with the Haas Formula One team for poor performance,\u201d the energy drink brand said in a statement in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe aim to beat Red Bull Racing and to be behind Williams Racing in Austria is unacceptable. The politics and PC attitude in Formula One is also inhibiting our business. We wish the team well,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
