Formula 1 legend Sebastian Vettel has praised Max Verstappen for his continued improvement and mental resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the Beyond the Grid podcast, Vettel described Verstappen\u2019s ongoing development as \u201cthe scary thing\u201d about the Dutch driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The four-time world champion highlighted Verstappen\u2019s ability to keep learning, stay composed under pressure, and maintain focus in critical moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe know he’s good,\u201d Vettel said. \u201cBut he’s still improving, he’s still hungry, he’s still willing to learn. I think he’s working very hard behind the scenes as well, and that’s what makes him so strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd of course he’s blessed with a lot of talent on top of that, but even if he’s one of the most talented drivers on the grid, I think ultimately what makes him so strong\u2026 it’s always a combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut the key ingredient is his head. In the situations where it matters, he keeps his head, hardly ever makes a mistake, delivers when he needs to, feels the pressure \u2013 we all do, I don’t think it’s possible [for anybody not to] feel the pressure \u2013 but he’s able to find a space in his head where he’s able to put that to his side and focus on what matters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vettel also noted that Verstappen\u2019s approach has matured over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe still goes for the impossible gaps and makes them possible, which is great in his skill, but he doesn’t go for all the gaps because he knows they’re not important right now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf he needs to get a move on, an overtake, he’s probably one of the best going through the field quickly, but if he knows \u2018I’ve got time and it doesn’t actually matter\u2019, he’s not panicking anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vettel\u2019s comments underscore the combination of natural talent and mental fortitude that has propelled Verstappen to the top of the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
