Browse the latest F1 job vacancies<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, as Ocon exited the second corner his car suddenly snapped on him, sending him considerably wider than usual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocon&#8217;s snap sent him into Alonso&#8217;s path, with the Alpine driver having collided with the Spaniard&#8217;s front-left tyre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collision sent Ocon into the barrier on the outside of the Turn 3, resulting in an immediate red flag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It certainly wasn&#8217;t a small impact, with Ocon having been left feeling a &#8220;bit sore&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a hard impact. I\u2019m feeling a bit sore obviously after that one but it doesn\u2019t matter we\u2019ll go on racing,&#8221; Ocon said after the incident, as reported by RaceFans.net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a truly bizarre incident, given that Alonso suddenly turned left right before Ocon crashed into him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some put the majority of the blame on Ocon for the snap he experienced on the exit of Turn 2; however, the Frenchman has insisted that he was in full control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocon argued that the &#8220;whole paddock&#8221; was going through the second corner exactly as he did, perhaps in an attempt to put the blame on Alonso. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Alpine driver insisted that Alonso &#8220;didn&#8217;t leave enough space&#8221;, although it was ultimately deemed as a racing incident by the stewards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Had it not been for the collision, then Ocon believes progressing to SQ2 was on the cards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a difficult one to swallow because we were on for a good improvement on that lap we were going to go through in SQ2,\u201d said Ocon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lance <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Stroll?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Stroll<\/a> admits car \u2018felt like crap\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rSr7pifMCy\">https:\/\/t.co\/rSr7pifMCy<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Formula1News.co.uk (@Formula1newsUK) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Formula1newsUK\/status\/1720886435530653988?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 4, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/formula1news.co.uk\/sauber-breaks-silence-on-audi-exit\/\">Sauber breaks silence on Audi exit<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut we found Fernando in the way. I heard people saying I lost the car, it\u2019s not true. We had corrections like that throughout the whole paddock, even on Lando [Norris\u2019] quickest lap he had a correction there and ran wide like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFernando steered to the left in the middle of the corner and didn\u2019t leave enough space and we collided.
