Outgoing Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel<\/a> will not sign a contract for 2021 with Racing Point at this weekend\u2019s Belgian Grand Prix, according to reports from the paddock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vettel has been strongly linked with a move to Racing Point<\/a>, which will be re-branded Aston Martin Racing next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, reports from Italy suggested that the German four-time World Champion would be signing a $15 million contract<\/a> with the Lawrence Stroll-owned team in Spa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If he were to join the team in 2021, he would almost certainly be replacing Mexican driver Sergio Perez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Perez has insisted that he believes his seat at Racing Point is safe<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vettel has said that he wants to stay in F1 to compete for Grand Prix wins and World Championships, not just to make up the numbers on the grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think that at least when you dedicate yourself to a new task, you should have the impression that it is something decent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf this is not the case, I am not the one who only drives in Formula 1, only to claim that I am a Formula 1 driver. That was never the goal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m here to race, to win races. I think we all have ambitions. That\u2019s still what drives me the most.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vettel was voted Driver of the Day at the Spanish Grand Prix, after he pulled off a one-stop strategy to bring his Ferrari<\/a> across the finish line in seventh place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
